Method

You can prepare the three main parts of this dish separately and then the final cook will take just a few minutes. Alternatively cook the rest while the spaghetti boils.

a) Boil the spaghetti for 8-10 minutes in salted water (or slightly less then cool under a cold tap if cooking ahead).

b) Fry onions in a little olive oil for 2-3 minutes then add bacon pieces and cook until just done (2-3 minutes more).

c) In a bowl mix milk and eggs thoroughly, season if required.  Add the cheese

If cooking at once add the cooked spaghetti and the milk/eggs/cheese mix to onions and bacon, stir to mix and serve once thickened and cheese is melted.

If the three parts were cooked ahead of time and are now cool microwave spaghetti to reheat. Briefly fry the bacon and onions to reheat then add hot spaghetti. Finally add milk/eggs and cheese and mix thoroughly while heating until cheese melts and sauce thickens.

Note: Cooking/reheating pasta in with a sauce involves adding the spaghetti whilst still slightly too hard as it will continue to soften as it sits in the sauce.
